Myspace

I'm not going to write much about anything.

The Rally in the Alley starts tonight and Fat Dan and myself will enjoy the summer wonders of drinking in Findlay, Ohio.

The real reason I am posting is to send anyone who cares to my Myspace account.

I generally screw around on that site and keep in touch with everyone through that.

So feel free to stop by and drop a line.

Done

I'm pretty much done with this blog. I could really care less about it at the moment. It isn't like anyone actually reads it anyways.

So I think I am retiring.

Of course if anything does come about that I feel is of interest I'll be sure to jot it down here.

Choke

In all honesty, I haven't done a thing this week worth blogging about.

I am absolutely amazed that it is already Thursday afternoon. The days seem to fly by when you enjoy your job as much as I do (please note the sarcasm).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am currently reading "Choke" by Chuck Palahniuk. This book is very good, but I keep waiting for the amazing twist that a person would expect from the writer of "Fight Club". I am already half way finished and I started reading the book on Monday. At this point in time I think I have it figured out, but that could all change in an instant. The book has already provided a multitude of crazy occurrences and outcomes, and I expect quite a few more in the second half of the book.
Shocking is not the right word, but it is the first one that comes to mind.
Somebody has a case of the Mondays
Office Space, what a great movie. I have watched it approximately 1 million times (that may be a slight over-exaggeration).
I definitely have a case of the Mondays.
I will return to my normal style of posting. Fat Dan apparently didn't take a liking to my previous post. I was only expanding my style. So much for improvement.
The weekend went well. I was finally able to relax and not have to worry about work for an entire two and a half days.
Friday started at The West End Tavern for drinks and dinner. Fat Dan was a little slow in getting there and I was already two pints deep by the time he arrived. I was a good 6 or 7 pints into the evening by the time I left and headed over to Tony Packo's for more drinks. A few more drinks there and it was off to Nino's for a nightcap. This place, as usual, was packed.
A strange thing happened in the fact that apparently some guy bought me a beer. I didn't know who it was and wasn't sure if I should accept a beer that another man bought me. I'm sure I made the right decision in drinking it and ignoring whoever bought it for me. I was sitting with a women after all. If he was hitting on me then he should have known better. I'm straight no ifs, ands, or buts. If he wasn't hitting on me then thanks for the beer. Or maybe the bartender just handed to the wrong person, but I doubt this considering I knew the bartender.
Saturday was very nice and relaxing until about 9:30. That is when the drinking festivities began. I made it to by my buddies house then. He had been drinking since 1:00 and was pretty much drunk. I drank out of the kegerator until about 11:30 and then we headed up to Nino's. Nino's was packed once again and women were buzzing around like a bee at a family picnic. They were all over the place. One women in particular took a liking to my buddy. It was funny, she was sitting at the bar by herself and asked him out of the blue to watch her coat and drink while she went to the restroom.
Around this time, I decide that it is time to do a shitload of shots. Jager Bombs and Washington Apples are the choice of the night. About 5 shots in 30 minutes along with a beer every 5 to 10 minutes and I finally started hitting my buzz point.
Ok, back to the women. She chatted with us for a long time and generally seemed interested in my buddy. But for some reason she kept talking about a boyfriend. I thought she was a little strange and I figured their relationship was a little off if she was sitting at the bar with two random guys while her boyfriend sat at home. Go figure, women will do anything. Of course my buddy slipped his phone number to her right before she left. Which leads me back to the above interjection concerning shots.
I kind of figured the shots would finally catch up to him considering he had been drinking for so long. He kept saying that he didn't know what was going on. I told him it looked like he was doing very well for himself considering he slipped her his phone number. I wonder if she will call. I think it will be pretty funny, with the boyfriend and all.
In the end the weekend went well.
Insights to a Dream (or a plan)
In a few hours, I will traverse across the vast corn fields of northwestern Ohio to the The West End Tavern, the Mecca of small town drinking.
The beautiful rainbow waterfall of golden, red, and dark beer flowing from the multitude of taps, will be a splendid sight for all to see. I will divulge myself into an experience that hasn't been reached in nearly two weeks, a relaxing evening of drinking with good friends.
As I stumble through the hours until I reach my final destination, I will reminisce of better times. I ponder what it would be like to not be trapped in the darkness of work.
I dream of a freedom that will soon be ascertained. I dream of the weekend.
As always, have fun, be safe, and drink one for me...
In the name of Science!
STB did what every red-blooded American male wants to do, a drinking experiment. His goal was 24 beers in 24 hours. The stipulation was that you could only drink 1 beer and hour. For all of you drinkers out there this may seem quite the simple task. Check out STB's blog to read up on the results. He provided a live blog entry for almost every beer consumed. It is more difficult than you may think.
Science, bringing drinkers together from around the world.
Who Needs Sleep?
As the title says, "Who needs sleep?"
An amazing thing occurred. It is Sunday, I am at work, and I am not tired.
I stopped in the bar on the way home from watching the NBA All Star festivities. It was around 11:00. I didn't think it would be such a great idea but a friend was visiting someone in town and I needed to stop by. I mean what kind of friend would I be. I kept thinking, "this is going to be a horrible idea tomorrow morning at 4:30."
It turned out that it wasn't.
The thing is Nino's was pretty happening last night. There was a great deal of hot tail there and I wasn't so sure I wanted to go home. I went to bed around 1:00 and as 4:30 rolled around I hopped out of bed as if I had slept a full 8 hours. I know later in the day that this lack of sleep will catch up to me, but that doesn't matter because I hopefully will be home from work by then.
So that is my amazing thing. I bet that kept everyone interested.
If you still read this you're either really bored or Fat Dan.
Speaking of the NBA All Star festivities, Andre Iguodala got robbed. How does a 5'9", Nate Robinson, beat Andre Iguodala.
Iguodala performed one of the most daring and amazing dunks in the history of the Slam Dunk Competition. A pass from Allen Iverson off of the back of the backboard, head grazing the bottom of the glass, for a reverse slam. He then ran up the tunnel towards the locker room as if the contest was already over. It should have been. My friends, words cannot describe this dunk. Click on the video recap link. Iguodala had another highly impressive dunk as well. He bounced the ball of the floor, jumped grabbed the ball one handed, transferred the balled behind the back to his other hand for the stuff. All in one fluid motion. WOW!!
Nate Robinson had one highly impressive dunk. I will let you judge for yourself, which one that is.
One dunk in particular: he received a pass from Spud Webb, the 1986 Champion and fellow NBA midget, and jumped over him with a monstrous tomahawk. This was the only dunk he received a perfect score on.
The contest was a huge success and I can't wait for next year's event.
